SCSI Tape Storage

SCSI tape storage is a type of data storage that uses a SCSI interface to connect tape drives to a computer or server. Tape storage is commonly used for backup and archive purposes, as it provides a reliable and cost-effective way to store large amounts of data for extended periods of time.

SCSI tape drives come in a variety of formats, including 8mm, DDS, DLT, LTO, and AIT. These formats provide different levels of storage capacity, data transfer rates, and other features. For example, LTO tape drives provide high-capacity storage, fast data transfer rates, and support for hardware encryption and compression.

SCSI tape storage systems can be configured in a variety of ways, depending on the specific requirements of the system. Multiple tape drives can be connected to a single SCSI controller or adapter card, and multiple SCSI controllers can be used to increase the number of tape drives that can be connected to a single system.
